Pharmaceutical Marketing Congress: Asia

Over the past decade Asian economies have grown rapidly. Important trends, such as the increase in household income, more government spending on healthcare, longer life expectancy and greater awareness about diseases associated with lifestyle choices have boosted demand for pharmaceutical products across the region.

At the same time as demand is growing, the pharmaceutical landscape is shifting. Healthcare policy makers and payers are mandating what doctors can prescribe and the boundaries between different forms of healthcare are blurring. Additionally, the increase in chronic diseases means governments are increasingly focussed on prevention rather than treatment. To complicate matters further Asia is not one homogeneous market. It is many, with different challenges and varying levels of health care infrastructure.

Synopsis

The pharmaceutical industry operating in the Asian market faces varied, changing and dynamic challenges. Responding to these challenges, the industry has shifted from the mass-market model to a more nuanced target-market approach. An approach designed to better serve its customers and increase revenue.

This congress examines how the market is changing and how the best in the pharmaceutical industry are responding.
