The two-day meeting hosted numerous presentations on probiotics discovery and product development, as well as prebiotics, diet and nutrition. Alongside a number of case studies on digestive health, metabolic diseases, ageing, skin health and allergy, the conference highlighted the developments in personalised nutrition and explored strategies for commercialisation. The FDA had been invited to speak on the regulatory aspects of probiotic products.
The meeting was once again collocated with the 8th Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration Forum: USA and 2nd Skin & Cosmeceuticals Congress: USA. Attendees could track-hop between all three events and have access to 100 presentations.
A panel discussion explored the various sources of funding for microbiome products. Expert-led round tables provided delegates with a forum to discuss a range of topics such as the challenges for microbiome-based precision medicine or the skin microbiome and the future of “clean beauty.”
